Happy Jury Appreciation Week 2022!
The Circuit Court for Prince George’s County is proud to celebrate Jury Appreciation Week 2022 in honor of the men and women who have served as jurors and ensured the Court completes its judicial proceedings effectively and efficiently.
“The Circuit Court is extremely grateful for residents in Prince George’s County who have consistently fulfilled their civic duty as jurors,” said The Honorable Sheila R. Tillerson Adams, Chief and Administrative Judge of the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County and the Seventh Judicial Circuit of Maryland. “Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, our jurors continued to serve and helped the Court’s operations continue seamlessly.”
In 2020, at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Circuit Court jurors have been extraordinary by continuously showing up to the Courthouse when called for duty to assist in providing justice despite hesitancy. Every effort was made to make our jurors comfortable by instituting various precautionary measures to secure their safety. The Court even created a Jury Information Guide for the COVID-19 pandemic. Why celebrate Juror Appreciation Week?
• To recognize the sacrifices jurors make in order to fulfill their civic duty.
• To join with the Prince George’s County justice partners and other courts in the State of Maryland acknowledging and appreciating jurors.
• To celebrate jurors for their outstanding and important service.
Jurors are the pulse of our Criminal Justice System. Each juror’s participation makes a difference in the many lives within our communities.
Thank you to all of our many jurors for completing their civic duty! We truly appreciate your service!
