In recognition of National Reunification Month, families who successfully reunited will be honored by the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County during its third annual Reunification Celebration on Tuesday, June 5, 2018.

“It’s truly a pleasure to recognize the reunification of families during our annual ceremony,” says the Honorable Sheila R. Tillerson Adams, Administrative Judge of the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County. “Family is the most important force in the world and without them, oftentimes, we’re lost. I would like to thank the dedicated families for working hard to come back together and to the parents for overcoming the many challenges and focusing on reunifying with their children to provide a stable home filled with love and support. Furthermore, I would like to thank the Honorable Daneeka Varner Cotton, Presiding Judge of the Family Division and Reunification Celebration chairperson, the Reunification Celebration committee, nonprofit and government agencies for diligently working together to coordinate this event. Without each of you, this celebration wouldn’t be possible because we all know, the collective is so much more powerful than the few.”

National Reunification Month began in 2010 as a collaboration among a number of national organizations. These advocates joined together to let their constituents know that reunification is important and worthy of celebration. Formally, in 2012, the initiative's leaders decided to focus on June as Reunification Month.
