Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR): Mediation

Mediation is a form of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) in which a mediator, a neutral third person, helps the parties to make informed decisions to resolve their dispute in ways that might never be possible in a courtroom.  Mediation is voluntary and offers many advantages to a public court hearing.  It is conducted in a private setting that may be less expensive than cost incurred in court litigation and appeals.
