Catalog of Law Library Holdings
The Library has several computers that can access the Law Library catalog. All holdings of the Law Library are listed. Please see a staff member with any questions regarding the catalog. You may also access this catalog online.
Computer Terminals, Public Access
The Law Library has 12 computers available for Law Library users. Each computer provides access to the Law Library catalog, Microsoft Office, Internet, legal research databases, and an electronic collection of sample forms. A computer is reserved for attorney use only. Another computer, designated a "Quick Access" terminal, is available for a limited period only-not more than 15 minutes per user.
Fax and Scanning Services
The Law Library offers incoming and outgoing fax services within the United States at a cost of $1 per page. The Law Library also offers scanning to USB flash drive or email for $1 per page.
Internet Legal Research
While the Law Library computers provide internet access, we ask that users limit usage to legal research, to provide fair access to all Law Library users. Law Library users may access the internet for not more than 45 minutes daily.
The Law Library offers access to Westlaw, Lexis Advance Patron Access, National Consumer Law Center Digital Library, and the People's Law Library of Maryland for internet-based legal research. Each user is limited to 45 minutes per day and subject to all other Law Library rules. Please see a librarian if you have questions about internet legal research.
Internet Access, Wireless
Wireless Internet access (Wi-Fi) service is available to anyone with a laptop or other portable web-enabled device. The Law Library does not offer printing services or configuration assistance for wireless devices, and cannot accept the liability of handling your equipment, but will provide access information for your use. The Law Library, Circuit Court and Prince George’s County are not responsible for any damage to, or loss of, personal equipment or data.
Photocopying
The Law Library has two photocopiers at a cost of $.20 per page.
Printing From Computer Terminals
The Law Library offers the use of a printer for computer-generated material at a cost of $.25 per page. The Law Library printer cannot print from a personal device.
Multiunit Charging Station
A multiunit wireless device charger is available for micro-USB and Apple devices. The Law Library is not responsible for devices left unattended.
Request a Document
The Law Library accepts requests for copies of select legal research material that are in our current collection. These include statutes, rules and court opinions. Other materials may be provided if allowed by copyright restrictions. Documents provided by the Law Library through email are free. Faxed or mailed documents will incur a charge of $0.25 per page.
Requests can be directed to the Law Library at ccpg-mdlawlibrary@mdcourts.gov or 301-952-3438. Responses may take up to one business day.
Payments
The Law Library only accepts Visa, Mastercard and Discover credit/debit cards. Fees vary by card, but they are usually 2% - 2.5% of the total, but may be more depending on the card. The Law Library DOES NOT accept cash.
